Absithehouse 1, 1999
In the late 1990′s I read a book called “a History in a Bottle” which was about the 19th century drink Absinthe and the artist who drank it and painted about it . I was also very influenced by the Parisian painters of this period.

Lighting a Cig, 1997 acrylic and pen on paper
I was still an undergraduate when I was making these paintings and I was really influenced by illustrators who were finding success as gallery artist. I know that that sounds vague but what happen is I realized I was at a school who was teaching me to be a commercial artist and I was looking for something with more depth. so I took a major break from college and I dedicated my time to working for myself.I started to look at Parisian painters who drank.
